You’ve exchanged vows, danced the night away and vacationed as husband and wife…now, to change your name. Changing your name is one of the most exciting moments in getting married, but it’s also one of the most intensive.
First off, check with city hall to see specifics on how to go about your name change. Before your wedding day, make sure you go through the name change process at work as well as letting your wedding guests know in case they’d like to monogram your gifts.
Tip: Keep your honeymoon reservations under your maiden name because you won’t have a new license or passport before that time.
Other things to change: your license, passport, social security card, order new checks and credit cards and all your work paperwork.
