Creating A Classic Design Look

When I think of the word “classic,” immediately, I think of Grace Kelly and Audrey Hepburn; a time when things were formal and elegant. I think of feminine touches, soft colors and beauty within simplicity. A classic wedding is timeless. It’s elegance in its finest hour.

When considering a classic design theme for your wedding, the right flowers are a must. Roses, orchids, lilies, hydrangeas…whatever your favorites are, make sure they’re included and abundant. As a main staple in your setting, your classic centerpieces can include a robust bouquet of flowers surrounded by soft candlelight. Tall overflowing floral centerpieces work great here. Classic colors include: pinks, neutrals, and yellows with pops of green or blue as accents.

Choosing the Perfect Elements

The overall idea for the classic wedding design is timelessness and softness. Use candles to create soft, romantic lighting at your tables. By incorporating smaller candles, rather than large candle holders, you give your flower arrangements a chance to shine. Hints of gold or silver can be added in the form of the place cards for your guests.

You can never go wrong with hints of black on your tables. If you need to scale back on some of the flowers, a wrought iron candelabra keeps things elegant and classy. You can add some flowers within the candelabra or keep it as it is for a simple, yet elegant look. Black napkins and seat cushions make a great accent here.

Chair garlands and fresh greens are also a great way to add an accent color while keeping things feminine and romantic. Flower heads, baby’s breath and greens draped across chairs or even on the tables make a great addition to your classic wedding style.

Audrey Hepburn once said, “Elegance is the only beauty that never fades.” Your wedding day is a moment, an experience that will never fade. It will be memorable, not only to you, but your guests as well.
