Summer Menu - Wedding Compass

Winter is almost over and in Southern California that means the weather will be heating up…and fast. When planning your summer wedding, it’s important to also think about your summer catering menu. Planning menu items to keep your guests cool will keep them happy and focused on the stars of the evening…you and your groom.

Tis’ the season for shrimp cocktails and BBQ! Think about serving shrimp cocktails or sushi around an ice sculpture.  Add a side of gazpacho as an appetizer and you’re guests will be happy to dance the night away, regardless of the heat.

For the main course, think lighter fare like grilled chicken with mango salsa or grilled tilapia with grilled fruits and vegetables instead of the traditional steak and pork. Salads are always a great option with items such as fresh spinach, grapes, walnuts and goat cheese.

Don’t forget dessert! Think about adding ice cream or sorbet in flavors that match your wedding theme when you serve your cake. If you’re wedding is more informal, feel free to add a snow cone machine in different flavors to keep things cool, light and fun.

Happy Planning!
