Ceremony: Making Your Wedding Ceremony Special

Making a wedding Ceremony special, there is no right or wrong way to do it.  You can be as traditional or as creative as you like.

I know you want your wedding ceremony to be special and one of a kind.  And I know many brides agonize over what they can do to make it look different than all others.  For a few years couples had their dogs as the ring bearers!  It was certainly a new look; until Buster decided either to not come down the aisle or gave the person on the leash great problems. We did have one dog who thought the wedding canopy pole was a fire plug.  Enough said.

One couple had several people in their wedding party who were already parents.  What they did was dress the babies in white and put little wings on them and placed them in an American Flyer wagon to be pulled down the aisle as part of the processional.

Another couple had a theme, a dress up theme.  The groom, his best man and his groomsmen were the Three Musketeers and the bride was the Damsel with her Court dressed in period costumes.  It was actually charming!  Yet another had the ceremony in the round with the Chuppah/altar area in the middle and the audience in a circle.  The circle is such a powerful symbol of wholeness and the guests could see not only the couple but each other.  It was definitely magical.  Something you may not have thought about is having several members of your guest list give the couple blessings of their own creation during the ceremony. In a Jewish wedding the Seven Blessings can be done creatively by guests. In other faiths these blessings can take the place of formal readings or can be sprinkled throughout the ceremony.

No matter what you choose, your wedding will of course be special because it is yours!  There is no right or wrong way to do it.  You can be as traditional or as creative as you like.  In the end it’s all about your love and commitment and what is more exciting than this?
