The old saying “some like it hot” is very true. The buying patterns of event planners, brides and party enthusiasts seem to always move toward the summer months for an ice luge. As our winter is slowly becoming a memory this year, ice luges are once again becoming the norm at almost every wedding and corporate event as they allow guest interaction at a bar which usually offers no more than a little bit of conversation.

Technology has allowed the advancements of creating any ice sculpture that the client’s vision may be…even one used creatively to dispense drinks for parties and wedding receptions! With this being said, luges are allowing the guests more fun, excitement and of course memories. The bar at many events is becoming part of the overall show and luge enhances that and also provides a great photo opportunity.

Many luges often times have the event date, monogram or the name of the function on it. It allows the client to not only fulfill the ice needs, but also a branding opportunity as well. Ice luges are also very popular for the specialty drink at the event. For example, the Brucetini at Bruce’s 50th Birthday Party or Flip Flop Lollypop for the end of summer beach bash, It has become a novelty once again.

The misconception that luges are just for adults is no longer true. Luges are not just for alcohol. The new version of this is called the mocktail. The rise in luge production at bar/bat mitzvahs,

quinceaneras and even your child’s 5th birthday party at home has risen dramatically over the last 12 – 18 months. We see this trend continuing as again it is a way to increase the fun at any event and also an affordable way to encourage activity amongst the guests.
