The savvy bride seeking a happy bridal party will want to work within the budgets of those she has asked to
stand with her, so picking an affordable dress, shoes and accessories will definitely help curb costs and lighten the financial obligations for all involved.
The maid of honor should also be aware of financial concerns, as this will effect plans for the shower and bachelorette parties. Her plans should reflect how much the participants can afford. Considering what is an affordable contribution for all to pay will help keep all bridesmaids happy and their budgets intact.
If some in the bridal party are from out of town, be considerate of their travel related costs. Try to have the shower and the bachelorette party on the same weekend so they do not need to make an additional trip. Also, see if family and friends can help with putting up your out of town bridal party members and help with providing transportation. Not having to rent cars or pay for hotel accommodations will be greatly appreciated.
Other ways to save
You are a part of a bridal party – join forces, team up, share costs with some or all of the other bridesmaids.
Join the other bridesmaids and give group gifts. Pooling funds allows the group to buy a bigger gift with individuals paying less, while giving more.
Throw a simple shower at one of the bridesmaids or a family member’s home. Keep the menu simple, catering and going to a restaurant is costly, so keep it sweet and simple.
To lower the shared costs of the bachelorette party, invite additional friends and family to participate. The more the merrier and the more money pooled!
If traveling, share accommodations. Paying half or a third of the total costs for a hotel room and rental car saves everyone money.
The Big Day
You’ve made it to the big day and with a little financial planning, your bank account should still be in good shape.
Now all you 
need to do is make sure the bride is relaxed and happy, pitch in and help with any last minute details and enjoy yourself. It’s the bride’s big day, but it’s your big moment. Your time to shine, reflect the love from the happy couple and when the time comes, if you’re single, go catch that bouquet!
